Last week's pictures

Here are the newest pictures of Addison. They were taken a week ago but due to the significant electricity/energy shortages there was almost a week's delay in getting them emailed out to our coordinator here in the States. Her weight is up to 4998g which is right at 11 lbs. Not great for a baby who is going to be 5 months old in a few days but at least she is back on the growth curve and holding on at the 3%. Far from where I think that she should be. No other new news on the Tokmok courts.

The fall season is almost on us now and I am getting more and more anxious about the long winter that lay ahead. They are having a severe energy crisis in Kyrgyzstan and only anticipate it getting worse this winter. At this time are having scheduled rolling backouts that last 6-8 hours a day in an attempt to conserve some energy for the winter. Can you imagine how dark and cold it could be for our babies if we do not get them home before then??? I know that it is a rhetorical question but I just don't understand why those babies can not just be sent home sooner than later....

I can't wait for the day when I have some good news to post and I do believe that the day will come, I just hope that it is in the near future.

  1. Oh what a blessing to receive updated pictures. I am glad her weight is up a little. I have heard about the energy crisis and I too am worried about this winter with little to no electricity. I so wish they would let all of us go back and bring our babies home. Keeping you and sweet Addison in my prayers.

  2. It appears that Addison and Ellie are about the same weight. Last weights on E were 10.5 pounds. I suspect at pick up (6.5 months), she'll be about 12 pounds. Very concerning, but hopefully correctable once she is home. I continue to worry about the oncomin winter and the babies. I know of the energy (and food) crisis that is going on there and it seems CRAZY to have any more children at the orphanage than they have to. I hope you hear news very, very soon!

  3. I'm glad you got updates and pictures of sweet little Addison. I have been praying non-stop for the little ones and the energy crisis. She is going to gain and grow so much once you get her home, it will amaze you :)

  4. How wonderful to know she is doing better! Hope you can bring her home soon.

  5. She is adorable. I'm glad you were able to get a few new pictures of her.

  6. So happy to see the color and life returning to Addison, and I hope they can continue to "fatten" her up (ok, I know that was a stretch ; ) As for the wisdom of keeping these babies in frigid winter conditions without heat and power vs. inking the paperwork to get them into warm, loving homes, I just can't go there.

Lot of love and prayers for her health and warmth,
